Armourers Hall

Protecting London since 1346.

– Armourers Hall, London, EC2R
– Value: £300,000

Every year during the summer, the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers has their summer shut down to undertake essential repair and refurbishment. This year saw the longest shut down and the most ambitious project in the Livery companies’ recent history.

The Worshipful Company of Armourers have been located at the corner of Coleman Street and London wall since 1346, although the current building is relatively new, having been completely rebuilt as recently as 1839-1941. The main Livery Hall was further embellished in 1873 with the addition of a grand timber roof lantern, complete with stained glass windows.

Not only is the organisation well rooted, the buildings on this location have both survived the Blitz and the Great Fire of London. The building is Grade II* listed and the Hall is a Scheduled Monument.

In the 150th year since the roof lantern was built, Rosewood have successfully completed the refurbishment project within an efficient eight week contract. To the delight of all involved Rosewood completed the works on schedule and impressed all involved with our professionalism, knowledge and care of the building.
